Over the past few months we have seen monumental changes both in our country and in our Church. The Covid pandemic arrived just as the Church of Scotland was undergoing significant changes with its structure and ways of working.   One of the most substantial changes has been the emergence of two Forums to replace the previous Councils.  The Faith Impact Forum, which combines the World Mission and Church & Society Councils, seeks to enable and support the church, congregations and presbyteries as they engage with local, national and international issues.   The General Assembly which took place on-line in October confirmed the new remit of the Faith Impact Forum which will incorporate much of the work previously undertaken by the two Councils. The FIF has, within its staff structure, formed a Congregational Engagement team as we recognize the importance of listening, supporting and resourcing you at local level.

Church & Society, will be changing.   Eventually we plan to develop a new “Faith Impact” contact with every congregation and Presbytery where issues and resources can be shared and highlighted.  If you already have a World Mission Rep, a Fair-Trade rep or Eco Congregation Rep in your congregation you might like to talk with them about forming a group which will strengthen and encourage you all.  We will also be contacting the WM reps also very soon.

Please take a look at the Church of Scotland website: https://churchofscotland.org.uk  for recent articles and information about some of the wonderful work going on all over this country and further afield.  I encourage you to sign up to receive our regular e-newsletter, which despite its name, now covers all aspects of our new remit. (It will change soon!)   You will find us here: https://churchofscotland.org.uk/news-and-events/newsletters. You can also follow us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/churchofscotland and https://www.facebook.com/cosworldmissioncouncil/
